Amongst all the great road trips attempted by xBhp so far, right from the two grueling Great Indian Road trips  to the Irish, Australian and New Zealand sojourns, the mother of all road trips is coming up in the form of the Great Italian Road Trip signalling the coming of age of xBhp. Each of the past trips were memorable and unique in their own respect, each better than the predecessor  and each adding to the maturity of xBhp  as a unique forum and platform for motorcyclists in India par excellence.

If one reads the book "1000 places to see before you die",  Italy probably has more than 200 of them, peppered across the length and bredth of the country! The Great Italian Road trip will not cover each of those legendary places in such a short span of time but we will definitely ride the length and breadth of Italy starting 28th June until 21st July 2010.

Like its predecessors, this promises to be an invigorating and riveting  experience for xBhp's readers  and members alike. Truly, a Great Roadtrip in one of the most beautiful countries in the world; rich in history and culture, on a legendary machine from an iconic European motor cycle brand documented in its full glory by xBhp's lenses and mapped out in xBhp's own unique methodology, unlike any other before us can only be classified as the mother of all Road Trips so far.

This road trip will also be unique in terms of participation from xBhp's members. While most earlier trips may have come as a surprise till right at the moment they were launched, For the first time, the entire forum is a part of the planning of this exciting event, and one of members will join the two xBhp Ducatisti for an all expenses paid, 4 day joy ride with a Ducati Streetfighter in Italy including a visit to Ducati's factory.

It is said that no landscape more exquisite can be found in the world than some portions of Italy, no city can fill the peculiar place of Rome or Florence or Venice! And nothing can surpass the subtle witchery of Capri and Sicily and some of the half forgotten hill towns ruined ages ago. Joining the streams of travellers  from all over the world to have made their pilgrimage over the centuries to this fabled land, from the foothills of Mont Blanc - Europe's highest mountain to the beautiful & almost divine coast of Amalfi and  weaving around the monuments in Florence, Rome, Pisa, Venice etc. all the way to the southernmost tip or Sicily. xBhp's riders will ride, document and un-cover the beauty of this pre-eminent land of fascination - riding a breathtaking 7000 kilometers documenting the trip and the machine. Since 1946, As one of the flag bearers of the legacy left behind by Italian greats like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo (one a master of creation and thought and the other a gifted master of art known as the creator of famous paintings in the Sistine Chapel) Ducati's Streetfighter and Monster that the team will be riding; are masterpieces  created  in the same tradition - These are machines ahead of their time and above all, machine par excellence and beauty rolled into one with unique styling and design only Italians can muster. Sporting L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic engines, these behemoth take time to tame but once the rider gets the hang of the muscle they pack - they serve him like a thoroughbred - obeying every command and purring like a cat under him with a flow of power enough to keep the adrenalin flowing throughout the journey!

xBhp will be represented by Sundeep Gajjar - motographer, a.k.a Sunny and Anurag Ashok as the official blogger and documenter of the trip. While Sundeep Gajjar has been the lead for all the Great Road trips undertaken by xBhp, Anurag Ashok is a member of xBhp having over 20000 KM's of touring in the last year and a half alone under his belt including a California Road trip this spring on a Honda Goldwing.  Together, they will report daily through the visual and the written medium for the benefit of folks back home and abroad.

xBhp is an Indian motorcycling community and portal. xBhp means 'x' amount of braking horse power. The community aims to promote motorcycling as a lifestyle in India by concieving and executing trendsetting activities and roadtrips.

In 2006, xBhp pioneered a series of roadtrips with The Great Indian Roadtrip. Each roadtrip aimed to involve its community members offline and online and excel itself by capturing beautiful photos and sharing blogs.

Since then xBhp has done India (2006), Australia (2007), NZ (2008), India (2009), Ireland (2009) & NZ (2010).

With the Italian roadtrip xBhp has, for the first time, run a community elevating national level contest, the details of which can be seen on the right column. With this, xBhp has purposefully furthered itself from being just a forum or a website to becoming an entity that has the power and ability to bring true the wildest of dreams of a motorcyclist and yet remain accessible to anyone and everyone in this country and abroad.
